Akwa Ibom: Infant Abandoned By Her Family And Left To Die After Being Accused Of Witchcraft

Danish aid worker Anja Ringgren Loven has shared adorable new photos of a toddler who was abandoned by her family and left to die after being accused of witchcraft in Akwa Ibom.

The child, named Hope, was severely malnourished and in critical condition when rescued in March 2024.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, February 22, 2025, Ms. Loven expressed gratitude for the continued support since Hope’s rescue.

“I never know what picture to use of baby Hope because they are all good. So here you have all. Happy Sunday from Land of Hope. Thank you all for supporting our work,” she wrote.
