Prince Harry and Meghan Markle officially launched the 2025 Invictus Games on Saturday, but did you catch the controversial gift he received?
On Monday, the Duke of Sussex, 40, was presented with a jar of Vegemite by Australian fans, prompting a heartwarming response from his wife, which you can watch in the video below.
After receiving the gift, Harry shared a hug with the fans, followed closely by Meghan, who captured the moment on her phone.
This wasn’t the only gift Harry received upon his arrival in Canada. On Sunday, Derrick Cobbinah, President of the Ghana Jamaica Chamber of Commerce, gifted Harry two Nigerian team shirts for Archie and Lilibet, featuring their names on the back.
Derrick shared a photo of the thoughtful gesture on Instagram, writing, “Proud to present the Team Nigeria kit to the Sussex family!”

Team Nigeria, which made its debut at the Games in Düsseldorf in 2023, shares a strong bond with the Sussexes, especially Meghan. While in Germany, she expressed her desire to visit Nigeria with her children, Archie and Lilibet, as well as her mother, Doria Ragland.
This sentiment followed the moment when Meghan received her own Nigerian name, “Amira Ngozi Lolo,” meaning “royal wife.”
Bobby Ojeh, a member of Team Nigeria, remarked, “Behind every successful man is a woman. Meghan has been incredible, contributing to the success of Invictus. The sky is the limit, but they’re destined for greatness.”
This year’s Invictus Games have already been a resounding success, highlighted by a star-studded opening ceremony featuring performances from Chris Martin of Coldplay, Katy Perry, Noah Kahan, and Nelly Furtado.
The event aims to support the rehabilitation of injured and sick military personnel and veterans worldwide by providing them with the opportunity to compete in sporting events akin to the Paralympics.
