King Charles and Queen Camilla were in high spirits on Sunday as they attended a church service in Sandringham, Norfolk.
The royal couple were photographed beaming and waving at well-wishers as they walked side by side under the bright winter sun.
His Majesty, 76, showcased his signature frugality, donning a timeless herringbone coat with deep pockets—a wardrobe staple he has owned for over 40 years. He paired the classic outerwear with a sharp suit and dark brown brogues.
Meanwhile, Queen Camilla, 77, embraced the chilly weather in a stylish aubergine belted coat, complemented by suede boots, a leather handbag, gold hoop earrings, and her signature faux fur-trimmed hat in a warm sandstone shade.
The Norfolk church is a regular destination for the couple due to its close proximity to Sandringham House, the King’s vast 8,000-hectare estate. The estate features a working farm, beautifully maintained gardens, royal parkland, and rental properties, and it remains a favored gathering spot for the royal family during the Christmas season.
King Charles has long been committed to sustainable farming and, in a 2021 interview with Country Life, shared his vision of transforming Sandringham into a “fully organic operation.”
Reflecting on his decades-long dedication to environmental stewardship, he remarked: “Since the beginning of the 1980s, when I first had responsibility for managing some land in my own right at Highgrove, I have wanted to focus on an approach to food production that avoids the impact of the predominant, conventional system of industrialized agriculture, which, it is increasingly clear to see, is having a disastrous effect on soil fertility, biodiversity, and animal and human health.”
The King further emphasized his belief in sustainable practices, adding: “It has always seemed to me somewhat logical to embrace a farming system that works with nature and not against her, thus restoring the lost fertility and carbon-sequestration capacity of the soil on which we rely for our very existence upon this planet.”
