Selena Gomez became emotional while discussing the impact of Donald Trump’s immigration policies on Mexican and Latino communities in the US.

After Trump’s inauguration on January 20, he signed several executive orders aimed at mass deportations, which deeply affected Gomez, who has proudly embraced her Mexican heritage.

In an emotional Instagram Story shared on January 27, Selena was seen crying as she said, “All my people are getting attacked. The children, they don’t understand. I’m so sorry, I wish I could do something but I can’t. I don’t know what to do.”

She continued, “I’ll try everything, I promise.”

The 32-year-old singer captioned the video with, “I’m sorry,” followed by a Mexican flag emoji.

After facing backlash, Selena deleted the video.
