Temitope Elizabeth Soneye Iwute, a 32-year-old Nigerian woman in the UK, tragically passed away during childbirth, just after completing her Master’s degree.
The Nigerians in the UK Community (NIUK Community) shared the news of Temitope’s death in a statement on X, and also announced the creation of a GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for her newborn baby and family, as well as to cover her burial expenses.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the sad news of the passing of Temitope Elizabeth Soneye Iwute, a vibrant 32-year-old who tragically lost her life during childbirth, leaving behind her newborn son.
Temitope had recently completed her MSc at York St John University and was full of hopes for her future. Now, we ask for your support to honor her memory and secure a future for her baby.
