Tennessee High School Shooting Leaves Two Dead, One Injured

A tragic shooting unfolded at Antioch High School in Nashville, Tennessee, on Wednesday, January 22, leaving two students dead and another injured, according to police.

The incident occurred in the school cafeteria, where a 17-year-old male student opened fire, fatally shooting one student and injuring another before turning the gun on himself.

Police confirmed that the victims were both female students. Authorities were alerted to the situation at 11:11 a.m. local time and quickly responded to the scene. A photo shared on social media showed officers actively responding to the emergency.

Parents were advised not to go to the school but to a designated hospital for reunification with their children. Nashville’s school district provided a hotline for families seeking information, though they acknowledged that the line was experiencing high call volumes.

Students were transported by bus to the reunification center, while aerial footage from WTVF-TV captured large crowds gathering outside the hospital.

Antioch High School, a public institution with over 2,100 enrolled students, is now grappling with the aftermath of the shooting.

This tragedy comes less than two years after a separate shooting at a private Christian elementary school in Nashville, which claimed the lives of three children and three adults.
