Meghan Markle has announced that the release of her upcoming Netflix series, With Love, Meghan, will be postponed due to the ongoing devastating wildfires in Los Angeles.
The Duchess of Sussex had previously revealed at the start of the year that her lifestyle-oriented show would highlight the beauty of her home state, featuring special guests. In an official statement, Meghan expressed gratitude to her Netflix partners for supporting the delay, stating, “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.”
The series, filmed at Meghan and Prince Harry’s Montecito home, will now be released in March. The eight episodes feature guests such as Roy Choi, Mindy Kaling, and Alice Waters, with more “acclaimed chefs and special friends” teased by Netflix.
Produced by the Duchess herself, With Love, Meghan blends practical tips with candid conversations. The show encourages viewers to embrace creativity and imperfection, as Meghan and her guests share personal tips while working together in the kitchen, garden, and beyond.
As of January 12, the wildfires in Los Angeles have claimed 16 lives, forced hundreds of thousands to evacuate, and damaged or destroyed over 12,000 structures, including homes and businesses. Several celebrities, including Paris Hilton, Leighton Meester, Adam Brody, and Mandy Moore, have shared their personal losses, while others have donated resources or opened their homes to those in need.
Reports indicate that Meghan and Harry are also offering shelter to friends at their Montecito residence. In response to the crisis, the Sussexes issued a statement, acknowledging the widespread devastation and offering support: “In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighborhoods and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centers, and so much more – affecting tens of thousands from all walks of life.”
They encouraged others to help by opening their homes, adding, “If a friend, loved one, or pet has to evacuate and you are able to offer them a safe haven in your home, please do. And be sure to check in with any disabled or elderly neighbors to see if they need help evacuating.”
The Duke and Duchess have donated clothing, children’s items, and essential supplies to those affected, and they are working with their team at the Archewell Foundation to support the most impacted communities, including through volunteering and mental health recovery efforts.
