Sir Rod Stewart and his wife, Penny Lancaster, have been named as the newest celebrity ambassadors for the King’s Foundation, a charitable organization spearheaded by King Charles III.
The announcement follows Sir Rod’s recent celebration of his 80th birthday. This week, the iconic singer and his wife, who is a model, special constable, and Loose Women star, are set to visit the charity’s headquarters at Dumfries House in Ayrshire, Scotland.
The couple joins a distinguished roster of ambassadors that includes David Beckham, Sienna Miller, Alan Titchmarsh, Sarah Beeny, Patrick Grant, and celebrity supporter Naomi Campbell.
Sir Rod, renowned for hits like Da Ya Think I’m Sexy? and Maggie May, expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, saying: “We are so pleased to be coming on board as ambassadors for The King’s Foundation and look forward to lending our support to this worthwhile cause, particularly during such a significant year for the charity.”
Lady Stewart, as Penny is also known, shared her excitement, highlighting her passion for community building and green spaces: “As a volunteer special constable, the Foundation’s approach to building communities – and how access to green spaces can help build better, healthier places – is particularly important to me. It’s an honour to be working with the Foundation, and I can’t wait to meet more of the inspiring people who both learn with and work for the organisation.”
During their visit, the couple will meet staff at the Health and Wellbeing Centre on the Dumfries estate. They will learn about the centre’s perimenopause programmes and support groups, aligning with Penny’s role as patron of Menopause Mandate.
Their involvement with the Foundation follows their attendance at its inaugural awards ceremony at St James’s Palace last June, where Sir Rod shared a humorous moment with David Beckham.
The King’s Foundation, established in 1990 by then-Prince Charles, is guided by His Majesty’s philosophy of harmony, which emphasizes the balance between humanity and the natural world to foster a sustainable future. Lord Snowdon, the King’s maternal cousin, serves as the charity’s Vice-President.
