Police in SEARCH of attacker ‘assaulting women and cutting off their hair’

Fears are growing over a ‘serial attacker’ who is allegedly coming up behind woman and cutting off their hair before fleeing.

Police have stepped up patrols in Sidcup, south east London, following claims online about a random attacker preying on women on the streets.

One post which has been widely shared online warned: ‘To all the girls and women of Sidcup, be aware there’s a serial attacker who is randomly attacking women from behind. 

‘So far he has attacked five people and likes cutting off hair so please be careful.’

It was further alleged that one woman had been ‘badly beaten’. 

The Met Police confirmed that it was aware of concerns over assaults on women and that it had reported to an incident last week.

Detectives are reportedly ‘working hard to try and locate a suspect’. 

One woman claimed that it was her ‘very good friend’ who was attacked on Mallard Walk.

She alleged that the victim was ‘putting her rubbish done the chute and he came up behind her and cut a lot of her hair off’.
