The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned 45-year-old Stella Nwadigbo for the indecent treatment and assault of a child.
Nwadigbo appeared before Magistrate Court 1 in Ogba on January 9, 2025, following the circulation of a viral video showing her assaulting a three-year-old pupil at a primary school in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State. The incident came to light on January 8, prompting swift action by the authorities.
Upon receiving the video, the Family Support Unit (FSU) of the Ikorodu Police Division arrested Nwadigbo on January 8 and transferred her to the Gender Unit at the Command Headquarters for further investigation. The young victim was taken to a medical facility to receive appropriate care.
Nwadigbo was charged with indecent treatment and assault of a child. She pleaded not guilty to the charges. Chief Magistrate O. Kushanu granted her bail of ₦200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Despite the bail, the suspect has been remanded at Kirikiri Correctional Facility until February 18, 2025, when the case will resume for further hearing.
