Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck have reportedly finalized their divorce, five months after their unexpected separation.
The former couple, Lopez, 55, and Affleck, 52, who tied the knot in 2022, will officially dissolve their marriage on February 20. According to Daily Mail, each will retain the assets they acquired individually during their brief union.
The pair also reached a private agreement regarding their $61 million Beverly Hills mansion, which they purchased together.
Despite having a combined net worth of $550 million—with Lopez contributing $400 million—the couple did not sign a prenuptial agreement before their marriage.
Lopez and Affleck initially wed on July 16, 2022, at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas, 18 years after calling off their first engagement in 2004. They later held a second ceremony on August 20, 2022, at Affleck’s estate near Savannah, Georgia.
Lopez filed for divorce on the second anniversary of their Georgia wedding but listed their separation date as April 26, 2024.
As part of the settlement, mediated by celebrity divorce attorney Laura Wasser, Lopez will drop Affleck as her last name, reverting to Jennifer Lynn Lopez.
During their marriage, Affleck retained his stake in his production company, Artists Equity, co-founded with Matt Damon in 2022. The company has produced films such as Air, The Accountant Part 2, and Unstoppable. Meanwhile, Lopez worked on projects including Shotgun Wedding, This Is Me… Now, and The Mother.
The settlement comes just days after Lopez visited Affleck’s home ahead of the Golden Globes. She was seen hugging Affleck’s son, Samuel, 12, while her child, Emme, 16, left the property carrying a gift.
Despite their divorce, the pair reportedly plan to remain in each other’s lives. A source told Page Six, “They have every intention of staying connected, especially when it comes to their kids.”
Affleck shares three children—Violet, 19, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12—with his ex-wife, Jennifer Garner. Meanwhile, Lopez remains close with Affleck’s children, and the two families still feel “blended in many ways,” the source added.
The former couple, who share a deep history, continue to maintain mutual respect and an amicable relationship.
