Anambra State: Police Arrest Two Brothers For Beating Sibling To Death And Burying Him

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested two men accused of killing their brother and burying his body in a shallow grave in Oko, Orumba North Local Government Area, Anambra State.

Police Commissioner Nnaghe Itam revealed the details during a press briefing on Monday, January 6. Itam explained that the deceased, Chibuzor Okeke, had been accused of burglary and theft.

His brother, Chidiebere Okeke, and cousin, Emebo Ogochukwu, allegedly caught Chibuzor in the act and proceeded to beat him severely, leading to his death. “The suspects have admitted to killing their brother and burying him in a shallow grave at their compound in Oko,” Itam stated.

The police chief further explained that after the assault, Chibuzor became unconscious and was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical staff. Following the incident, the two suspects dug a shallow grave and buried the body.

Ongoing investigations are taking place, and the suspects are expected to be charged in court.
