Princess Beatrice Makes Sudden Change To Christmas Plans Due To Health Reasons

Princess Beatrice has made a last-minute alteration to her Christmas plans, choosing to remain in the United Kingdom and travel to Sandringham this year. The eldest daughter of Prince Andrew had initially planned to spend the festive season abroad with her husband, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and his family.

However, after receiving recent medical advice against long-distance travel due to her pregnancy with her second child, Beatrice has decided to stay closer to home.

Beatrice, along with her husband and their daughter, Sienna, as well as Edo’s son, Wolfie, will now join the family at Sandringham. They will take part in the traditional Christmas Day walkabout at Sandringham.

Due to her young age, Sienna, who is only three, is likely to stay behind, as children typically don’t attend the church service until they are a little older—Prince Louis, for example, began joining the family at four.

Beatrice will be the only member of the York family attending, as Princess Eugenie is expected to spend the holidays with her in-laws. Additionally, Prince Andrew will not be present at the celebrations due to the ongoing controversy surrounding his connections to a businessman named as a spy by the Home Office.

This Christmas will be the first time Eugenie has celebrated the holiday with her in-laws, as she typically spends the season with her own family at Sandringham.

In a 2018 interview after her engagement, Eugenie spoke fondly of her in-laws, saying, “They’re really wonderful people. Seven years, you get to know people pretty well. They’re already sort of parents and brother.”

Earlier this month, Prince William shared that he was expecting 45 members of the extended family to join the Sandringham celebrations.

Speaking to members of the 1st Battalion Mercian Regiment, the Prince of Wales joked, “Am I ready for Christmas? No, no way am I ready.” He expressed excitement about spending the holiday with so many family members “all in one room,” noting that they are usually “spread out.”

It’s believed that William, along with the Princess of Wales and their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—have already arrived at Sandringham for the festivities.
