In a devastating incident in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, suspected bandits abducted a newlywed bride and four bridesmaids shortly after the wedding ceremony.
The abduction took place on Saturday, December 7, 2024, in Kwaren Gamba near Kuka Teke, a village frequently targeted by armed groups loyal to notorious terror leader Bello Turji.
According to security analyst and counter-insurgency expert Zagazola Makama, the armed assailants stormed the village, seizing the victims and leaving residents in a state of panic and helplessness.
The families of the abductees remain in anguish, while local youth and elders have expressed frustration and grief over the tragic event.
