A 37-year-old man, Muftau Adefalu, has been accused of killing his ex-wife, Yetunde Olayiwole, in the Sango-Ota area of Ogun State.
The spokesperson for the State Police Command, SP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident to The Punch on Saturday, November 2, 2024, stating that the suspect has been apprehended.
According to the Public Relations Officer, the incident occurred around 8:00 PM on Friday, November 1, following a disagreement between the couple that escalated into a physical altercation.
During the struggle, the victim collapsed and was subsequently confirmed dead at the hospital to which she was rushed.
“The man and his ex-wife had a misunderstanding that led to a fight. She collapsed during the scuffle and was taken to a hospital for treatment,” Odutola explained.
“She was later pronounced dead by the attending physician. The body has been sent to the Ifo General Hospital morgue for an autopsy, and the suspect has been arrested and is in custody.”
