A Makurdi Chief Magistrate Court has ordered the detention of three men at the Federal Correctional Centre, Makurdi. The trio is accused of gang-r*ping a 15-year-old girl in the Gboko area of Benue State.
The accused, identified as Banky Tersugh, Sesugh Iorver, and Aondoaseer Jude, all from Gboko, were arraigned on charges of criminal conspiracy and gang rape.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the victim’s father reported to the police on October 17, 2024, that his daughter was abducted while running an errand.
The accused, along with five others still at large, allegedly dragged her into a thatched house, tied her up, and s*xually assaulted her.
The police investigation led to the arrest of the three accused. The case has been adjourned to December 30, 2024, for further proceedings.
