Adamawa State: A Woman Arrested For Allegedly Assaulting Her Young Stepchildren After They Urinated And Defecated In Their Room

A 37-year-old woman named Fatima Abubakar has been arrested in Adamawa for allegedly abusing her minor stepchildren for urinating and defecating in their room.

Fatima, from Sanda, Makama B ward in Yola South LGA, reportedly tortured her 2-year-old girl and young boy, who were left in her care.

Despite being married to their father and having no children of her own, she physically assaulted the minors and confessed to the abuse after her arrest on Saturday, October 5.

Neighbors had reported that Fatima regularly mistreated the children, often denying them food, and had warned them not to interfere in her matters.

Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, stated that she was apprehended following a tip-off from concerned community members.

He also mentioned that the Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankombo, had instructed that Fatima be charged in court for prosecution.
