Where Does Kate Middleton Get Her Money from?

You will probably be
unsurprised to hear that Kate Middleton is worth a lot of money, but we’re here
to confirm that her financial standing is, as expected, relatively flush.

Since Kate Middleton finally
married Prince William in 2011, she has been an incredibly influential figure
in various areas of British culture. For example, the media have called
Middleton’s influence on British fashion the “Middleton effect.”

As of 2022, Kate Middleton,
Duchess of Cambridge, has an estimated net worth of £8 million or $10 million,
according to Celebrity Net Worth.

Of course, some of this
affluence can be put down to her royal status; her husband William has
the formal title of ‘The Duke of Cambridge,’ and is the eldest son of Prince
Charles and the late Diana. Back when he worked with the RAF, William was
paid a salary of $73,000 a year. Still, these days one of his most important
sources of revenue is via the Duchy of Cornwall, which made a financial gain of
$26 million in 2020, a part of which is shared by William and his family by
Charles.

The Queen’s individual net
worth is set at $530 million. She has a vast amount of her own riches from her
father King George VI. This is a source of her independent wealth that does not
come from British taxpayers.

But even when you take Prince
William and the rest of the royals out of the equation, Middleton has
a spectacular amount of wealth alone. Her money is mostly due to a
small number of intelligent investments before joining the royal family and her
mother and father, whose event-planning business – Party Pieces, set up in 1987
– is estimated to be worth around £30 million. In spite of being dubbed as
commoners, Michael and Carole Middleton are prosperous, self-made multi-millionaires,
so the duchess grew up upper class.

Of course, since becoming
royal herself, Kate Middleton enjoys even more luxury than she did before. Her
engagement ring is just one example of how being royalty has boosted her worth
– her 12-carat oval Ceylon sapphire surrounded by 14 solitaire diamonds and set
in white gold was formerly owned by Diana.

The ring was not custom-made but
was created by British jeweller Garrard and chosen by Prince Charles for his
proposal to Diana in 1981. This sapphire engagement ring is maybe the most well-known
piece of jewellery Middleton was left by Diana, but she has also reportedly
been given more of her late mother-in-law’s belongings.
