An entry in the Court Circular recently announced: “The Princess of Wales, Joint Patron, the Royal Foundation of The Prince and Princess of Wales, this morning held a Meeting at Windsor Castle.”
Joined by members of her team and representatives from the Royal Foundation, Princess Kate discussed plans for her annual Christmas carol service, set to be held later this year at Westminster Abbey. This follows a meeting she had last week about her early years initiative.
This will mark the fourth time Princess Kate has hosted the festive event, which last year saw her accompanied by Prince William and their three children.
The service, a beloved royal tradition, will once again be televised on ITV on Christmas Eve. Since its inception in 2021, the concert has become a staple of the royal holiday calendar.
In its first year, Kate wowed viewers with her public piano performance, accompanying Tom Walker in “For Those Who Can’t Be Here.” She later showcased her musical talent again during the opening of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023.
Princess Kate will have a light work schedule through the end of the year, including private meetings and a few public engagements, as part of her gradual return to royal duties.
Earlier this year, in March, Kate shared her cancer diagnosis through a personal video message, revealing it was discovered in post-operative tests after undergoing major abdominal surgery in January. She underwent a preventative course of chemotherapy, which she completed in September.
In a heartfelt message, Kate opened up about her journey: “The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family… Life as you know it can change in an instant.”
Looking ahead, Kate expressed optimism: “Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long. I look forward to being back at work and taking part in a few more public engagements when I can.”
