The Prince and Princess of Wales offered an intimate glimpse into their family life with a new video that coincided with Kate’s announcement of completing her chemotherapy treatment.
In the touching video, Kate is seen enjoying the summer holidays with Prince William and their children—Prince George, 11, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6. Filmed by Will Warr in Norfolk last month, the montage captures the family playing cards around a table with Kate’s parents, Carole and Michael Middleton.
A charming detail revealed is their inventive method for keeping score—coffee pod capsules placed on the table for each player!
The video also shows the family’s fondness for card games, as they are seen playing with a pack of RAF ‘Battle of Britain’ cards during a picnic. The friendly competition among them is evident, with William and Kate known for their competitive nature in royal engagements.
Princess Kate humorously addressed their competitiveness on Mike Tindall’s podcast, The Good, The Bad & The Rugby, last September. She downplayed her competitive streak, joking about their unfinished tennis games and describing them as mental challenges. When asked if their children showed signs of competitiveness, Princess Anne noted, “Just a little bit,” and anticipated seeing how it develops as they grow.
The family video also features endearing moments, including the Waleses laughing and splashing through waves at the beach, and rare public displays of affection between William and Kate as they share a picnic blanket, with William affectionately kissing his wife on the cheek and neck.
As she reflected on her journey after chemotherapy, Kate acknowledged that the path to healing and recovery is ongoing and emphasized the importance of taking each day as it comes while looking forward to resuming her public duties.
