Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy has opened up about the spiritual journey behind her decision to divorce her husband, Mr. Twum-Ampofo.
In an honest interview with Cookie Tee on TV3, Ohemaa Mercy clarified that her decision to separate was not made lightly but was the result of extensive reflection and prayer.
She revealed that ending her marriage was a deliberate choice made after seeking God’s guidance.
“I didn’t simply wake up one day and decide to divorce my husband. I prayed about it, as I was dedicated to fulfilling the Lord’s work and realized that my marriage might be an obstacle. Therefore, I sought His permission and approval before making the final decision,” she explained.
When asked if she was the one to initiate the divorce, Ohemaa Mercy confirmed that she did take the first step, but emphasized that the decision was made amicably and without conflict.
“We mutually agreed to go our separate ways, and he consented,” she added.
