Usman Austin Okai, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, has stated that it is demeaning and disrespectful for a man to kneel while proposing to a woman.
“Never raise a son to go on a knee for any woman to propose marriage,” he wrote in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
“And you as a lady, you are happy that a man is kneeling down before you. Which culture or religion? It’s unnatural, it’s demeaning and disrespectful.”
