On Tuesday, August 20, a man violently attacked his aunt with a broom during an argument in her NYC home, resulting in her death.
Alexander Fleming, 29, and his aunt Juanita Dallas were arguing inside her residence on 164th Street near 108th Street in Jamaica around 10:30 p.m. when Fleming struck her in the head with the broom, according to police.
Dallas was rushed to North Shore University Hospital but did not survive her injuries.
Fleming was arrested later that evening and charged with murder due to depraved indifference, assault with intent to cause physical injury using a weapon, and criminal possession of a weapon.
He has a record of 10 prior arrests, although details of those arrests have not been disclosed.
