A beauty clinic has allegedly tricked a 19-year-old man with a mental age of five into getting breast implants by telling him they would help him make money.

The teen’s mother, referred to in local media as Ms Lu, from Wuhan, China, said her son had the breast surgery on July 28.

‘When our family heard about this, we were absolutely shocked. It was like the sky was falling. He’s only 19 years old,’ she told the South China Morning Post.

MOTHER’S STATEMENT

She claims that her son went to the clinic to apply for a job offering full board and a monthly salary of 3,000 yuan (£325), but was convinced by staff that he should get breast implants first.

HOW HE WAS TRICKED

A member of staff reportedly told him via text: ‘You can get the breast surgery done first and start working once you’ve recovered.’

When the teenager voiced concerns about having the surgery as a man, the staff member reassured him that it was ‘OK for men’.

He was also worried about paying for the procedure, but the employee convinced him to pay for the surgery in installments, before suggesting that he could pay the clinic back via a live-streaming income.

The 19-year-old went on to take out a loan of 30,000 yuan (£3,250) and another for 7,000 (£750) over the course of two years.

His mother said that after the surgery in July, he was left with a B-cup – and two long scars underneath his breasts, which break her heart every time she sees them.

HE IS SUFFERING FROM TRAUMA

After a series of discussions with the clinic, the teenager’s breast implants have since been removed, which his mother claims re-traumatised him.

She provided medical reports saying that her son has mental capacity of a five-year-old due to his intellectual disabilities and should not have been able to get the surgery done without her consent.

Her son has allegedly been suffering from depression, anxiety and sleep disorders since having the surgeries.
