The “From Dusk Till Dawn” co-stars may not be working together again anytime soon after Clooney publicly voiced his frustration with Tarantino.
In an interview for GQ’s September issue, Clooney addressed a recent comment made by Tarantino, who questioned Clooney’s star power by suggesting he hadn’t had a hit “since the millennium.”
The remark clearly bothered Clooney, who responded, “Since the millennium? That’s basically my whole f***ing career. So now I’m like, all right, dude, f off.”
The situation was further complicated by the presence of Brad Pitt, a frequent Tarantino collaborator and Clooney’s co-star in the upcoming film “Wolfs.” While Pitt didn’t weigh in on the exchange, his laughter in response left his reaction open to interpretation.
Clooney, with his impressive accolades including 2 Oscars, 5 Golden Globes, an AFI Life Achievement Award, and a Kennedy Center Honor, has ample reason to defend his storied career.
Tarantino, another industry titan with 2 Oscars and 4 Golden Globes, may have felt competitive when making the comment, but Clooney’s retort demonstrates he’s not one to overlook such provocations.
