The incident occurred early Monday morning in Hove, UK, when the man, after requesting directions, forcibly pulled her into his vehicle.
According to the woman, this happened around 2am at the junction of Selborne Road and Church Road.
The man drove for a short distance before the woman was able to escape and seek help. Later that evening, police seized the vehicle believed to be involved in the abduction and arrested the 21-year-old man early on August 12.
He faces charges of kidnapping, vehicle theft, and making off without payment.
Police Superintendent Petra Lazar commented, “We understand that this incident has caused significant concern in the local community, and we want to assure everyone that a dedicated team has been working diligently to conduct a thorough investigation, which has led to the arrest of a suspect.
“We appreciate those who have already provided information to the police and encourage others to come forward. Any information, no matter how small, could be vital to the investigation.”
