A chilling video captures the moment crowds watched in horror as 15-year-old Débora Rebeca Xi Artola fell from a rooftop after being decapitated by a power line in Guatemala.
On Thursday, August 1, Débora was on the roof of a two-story building in La Tinta with three friends, one of whom was taking pictures.
The group was dancing when Débora accidentally contacted a high-tension power cable, which likely caused an immediate fatal shock, according to El Heraldo.
Additional footage from below shows shocked onlookers rushing toward the building as Débora’s body, initially suspended on the cable amid smoke, tragically fell about 20 feet to the pavement after her head was severed.
Débora’s devastated mother, Andrea Xi, posted a tribute on Facebook featuring a portrait of her daughter from her quinceañera in March, expressing her grief with messages like “I love you forever. My princess,” and “My first and great love.”
Authorities are investigating the incident to confirm that it was an accident.
