Angelina Jolie’s Father, Jon Voight, Expresses Heartfelt Support For His Granddaughter, Vivienne

Angelina Jolie’s relationship with her father, Jon Voight, has had its challenges, and according to a recent interview with Variety, it continues to experience significant ups and downs.

However, the 85-year-old actor is steadfast in his love for his grandchildren. Through Angelina, 49, and her ex-husband Brad Pitt, Voight has six grandchildren, and he cherishes his role as a granddad.

Despite the rocky relationship with his daughter, Voight expressed admiration for her and her family, especially highlighting his youngest granddaughter, 16-year-old Vivienne Jolie-Pitt.

Vivienne recently won a Tony Award with the team behind the Broadway hit The Outsiders, which her mother helped produce and for which she worked as a PA. Both mother and daughter attended the ceremony together and celebrated onstage when the show won Best Musical.

On July 12, Vivienne and her twin brother Knox turned 16, and during the interview, it was revealed that Voight had prepared a special gift for his granddaughter. To commemorate The Outsiders’ success, Voight planned to send Vivienne a sketchbook and a drawing as a birthday and congratulatory gift.

Voight’s home features notable photographs of his daughter during her marriage to Brad Pitt, including a magazine cover showing them with their newborn twins from the period when he and Angelina were estranged.

He also mentioned making a stop in New York City on his way back from the Cannes Film Festival, where he attended a production of The Outsiders. He praised the experience, saying, “It was amazing. Angie is amazing.”

Voight’s relationship with his Oscar-winning daughter was strained in the past due to his departure from her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, and his two children, Angelina and James Haven, when they were young. In recent years, they have been working to mend their relationship.

Voight emotionally states: “I love my daughter — that’s No. 1. I am happy when Angie is happy. When she’s having a tough time, I’m having a tough time. When she is down, I’m down.”
