Authorities in Nakuru are currently investigating the death of Eileen Cherotich, a business student at the Rift Valley Institute of Science Technology, who reportedly sustained fatal injuries during a journey home from Nakuru town after a night out.
Her lifeless body was discovered near the Eveready roundabout close to the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway on the morning of Sunday, July 14, 2024.
Reports indicate that Cherotich had a dispute with her boyfriend while en route, culminating in the devastating incident.
Three individuals and a vehicle believed to be linked to the case have been apprehended and are held at Nakuru West police station.

Following the incident, fellow college students staged a protest, blocking the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway, demanding justice for their fallen peer.
Cherotich’s remains have been transferred to the Nakuru County Referral Hospital Mortuary for a post-mortem examination as investigations continue.
