Queen Letizia looked elegant as she welcomed Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky to the palace in Madrid today, alongside her husband, King Felipe.
The 51-year-old royal made a fashion statement in a two-piece navy pinstripe suit, featuring an oversized blazer and wide-legged trousers. She completed the ensemble with a dark blue lace blouse and stylish black flat pumps.
Keeping her accessories minimal, Letizia wore silver statement drop earrings with pearls. Her signature brunette locks were styled in a straight, sleek blowout, complemented by glamorous makeup with sparkly eyelids and pink lip gloss.
President Zelensky opted for a casual look, wearing a khaki t-shirt adorned with Ukraine’s flag on the sleeve, brown cargo trousers, and trainers. King Felipe looked dapper in a black suit, paired with a crisp white shirt, polished shoes, and a blue patterned tie.
The Spanish royals welcomed President Zelensky to the palace for a photo session ahead of lunch. During Zelensky’s visit, Spain pledged one billion euros in military aid to Ukraine as Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and Zelensky signed a security deal in Madrid.
Sanchez announced at a joint news conference that the deal includes a commitment of one billion euros in military aid for 2024.
He also mentioned that Spain had already pledged to supply Patriot missiles and would send additional Leopard tanks and ammunition.
Sanchez emphasized Spain’s commitment to working with Kyiv to understand further needs for Ukraine’s air security amidst the ongoing Russian offensive in the Kharkiv region.
