Princess Eugenie expressed her support for Prince William in a rare statement this week, following the Sovereign’s annual garden party at Buckingham Palace on Tuesday.
Hosted by the Prince of Wales, the event welcomed around 8,000 guests who enjoyed tea and cake in the beautiful garden. Members of the royal family, including Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, Peter Phillips, Zara Tindall, and Mike Tindall, attended the occasion.
Absent from the event was the Princess of Wales, who is continuing her recovery from cancer treatment. Princess Eugenie, 34, took to Instagram to show her support for her cousin Prince William after the gathering.
“Come rain or shine, I was delighted to support my family yesterday to meet some special individuals at the Buckingham Palace Garden Party who have gone above and beyond to support their local communities and the country,” the royal wrote.
The carousel of photos showed Eugenie looking glamorous despite the rain, dressed in a cream Ulla Johnson midi dress with short sleeves and ruffle detailing, paired with leather Valentino heels adorned with metallic studs. The mother-of-two completed her outfit with a dusty pink shoulder bag and an Emily-London floral headpiece, while her brunette hair was styled in a low bun.
Eugenie coordinated her look with Princess Beatrice, 35, who wore a headpiece from the same brand. Beatrice’s attire included an Emily-London patterned headband and a crimson Beulah London midi dress with lightly puffed long sleeves, a high neck, and golden buttoned detailing. She complemented her outfit with Jennifer Chamandi heeled pumps and an Anya Hindmarch tassel clutch bag.
Traditionally, the royal family hosts three garden parties at Buckingham Palace and one at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Scotland each year. These annual events provide an opportunity for the royals to meet with community representatives and charity workers.
