Prince Harry and Meghan are already planning more royal-style tours following the success of their trip to Nigeria.
The Duke and Duchess were delighted by the reception and coverage of the three-day visit, and they are considering a possible return to Africa among their next global trips.
This comes after the couple spent the past few years focusing on life in Meghan’s native US, where they are raising their two childr
A source close to the couple told the Mirror: “The Duke and Duchess have other trips planned for the remainder of the year. They are hoping to be able to share more details in the coming weeks. It is definitely possible they could return to Africa for more tours after that.”
Harry, 39, and Meghan, 42, traveled to Nigeria to promote their Archewell Foundation’s mental health initiatives and support the Invictus Games, in which Nigeria participated for the first-time last year.
During their visit, they met with military leaders, injured soldiers, and schoolchildren, who all warmly welcomed them.
Meghan, who discovered she has Nigerian ancestry amounting to 43% through a genealogy test in 2022, was particularly moved by the reception in Nigeria, which she referred to as “my country.”
Africa holds a special place in the hearts of the royal couple. They enjoyed a trip to Botswana for their third date in 2016, a year before Harry proposed with a diamond sourced from the country. They later returned for a longer visit to celebrate Meghan’s 36th birthday.
In 2019, they embarked on their first royal tour together, visiting South Africa, Botswana, Angola, and Malawi over ten days.
