Meghan Markle And Prince Harry Receive Positive News After Archewell Is Declared 'Delinquent'

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Archewell Foundation efficiently tackled and resolved an issue that momentarily placed their charitable organization in a “delinquent” status, as per a statement issued by their spokesperson.

Following the rectification of a minor oversight, the couple’s foundation promptly regained its good standing.

“We have diligently investigated the situation and can confirm that The Archewell Foundation remains fully compliant and in good standing,” the spokesperson said.

They confirmed that the necessary payments were promptly made, adhering to the IRS’s procedures, and all essential documentation was accurately submitted by the Foundation without any discrepancies or misconduct.

The issue arose when the foundation was unexpectedly labeled “delinquent” by California’s Registry of Charities and Fundraisers. This unforeseen development came as a surprise to Harry, Meghan, and the Archewell team, who were traveling in Nigeria at the time. Despite their travel commitments, they took immediate action to address the issue, although the resolution was initially delayed.

The notification from the registry, detailed in a letter from California’s Attorney General Rob Bonta, indicated that Archewell had overlooked submitting the necessary annual reports and/or renewal fees, resulting in a pause in fundraising and spending activities.

“An organization that is listed as delinquent is not in good standing and is prohibited from engaging in conduct for which registration is required, including soliciting or disbursing charitable funds,” the notification from the attorney general’s office explained.

Adding to the complexity, it was revealed that the initial payment made by Archewell had not been received, leading to the issuance of a new check. The amount involved was reportedly around $200, excluding any potential late fees.

Governor Gavin Newsom of California provided an update on the state’s efforts to revamp the mental health system.

During this update, he preemptively defended AWF, stating, “I just want folks to know, not only are they in compliance, it was a technical paperwork issue that was wildly overhyped,” among other remarks. Prince Harry and Meghan have made Montecito, California, their home since stepping back from royal duties and relocating from the UK in 2020.

Their foundation, Archewell, comprises not only the nonprofit charitable component but also for-profit divisions like Archewell Audio and Archewell Productions, focusing on media production.

Since its establishment, Archewell has initiated numerous endeavors aimed at nurturing community, compassion, and positive societal change, mirroring the philanthropic commitments and values of the Duke and Duchess.
