A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on ground of attempted murder after three people were injured in a horror attack at a secondary school in Sheffield.
Police Intervene
Police rushed down to Birley Community College Wednesday morning following reports that a child had been injured with a sharp object.Â
The child was given medical attention following the assaults and two other adults were also found to be injured, though their injuries are considered to be minor.
School Is in Lockdown
Following the incident the Birley’s school has gone into lockdown.Â
The Birley Academy posted on X/Twitter: ‘This morning we went into lockdown as a precaution following an incident at the school.
‘This was not a decision taken lightly but the safety of students and staff is paramount. All students and staff are safe. We are working closely with the police and will update shortly.’

An email sent to parents by head teacher Vicky Hall reads: ‘There has been an incident in school this morning.Â
‘I want to reassure you that all staff and students are safe and well. Emergency services attended immediately and are in attendance.
‘Please do not attend school at the moment.’
The 17-year-old suspect was arrested and taken into police custody where he remains.
