The renowned rapper, formerly known as Kanye West, made an appearance on Justin LaBoy’s The Download podcast to debut his intense verse on the remix of “Like That,” where he takes aim at Drake and J. Cole.
In a clip shared by Ye via Instagram on Saturday (April 20), the 46-year-old rapper beams as he shares a snippet of his dynamic remix with LaBoy.
The verse kicks off with Ye addressing Lamar’s feud with Drake, stating, “You know we had to get the hooligans up here to get these disrespectful individuals out/ Yo Dot, I got you.”
Continuing on, Ye directly targets both Drake and J. Cole. “You’re so out of sight, out of mind/ I can’t even recall a Drake line/ Play J. Cole, and the mood dampens/ Repeat this track 130 times.”
As of Sunday, the full version of Ye’s “Like That” remix had not yet been officially released on streaming platforms. The beef between Lamar and Drake started with the explosive verse on “Like That” by the Compton rapper, igniting the rap scene and holding the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100.
In the track, featured on Future and Metro Boomin’s We Don’t Trust You album, K. Dot takes several shots, with implications aimed at Drizzy and J. Cole. “Yeah, connect with me, no need for veiled insults/ ‘First Person Shooter,’ I hope they arrived with three switches,” Lamar aggressively raps on his guest verse.
“First Person Shooter” refers to the joint track released by Drake and Cole last year, where the latter claimed, “I love it when they argue about the best MC/ Is it K. Dot? Is it Aubrey? Or me?/ We’re like the big three, as if we founded a league.”
Ye’s remix of “Like That” comes after two recent responses from Drake, who officially dropped his diss track “Push Ups” on streaming platforms on Friday (April 19) and later followed with the “Taylor Made Freestyle” on social media the same evening.
In “Taylor Made,” the 6 God incorporates AI-generated verses in the style of Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg to further provoke Lamar, who has yet to respond to “Push Ups.”
