Court Allows DNA Of Mohbad’s Wife Via Alternative Methods

Wunmi, the wife of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, is now permitted to be served notice of the pending DNA test application through alternative means, as ruled by the Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Ikorodu.

A statement released by Monisola Odumosu, a member of the legal team representing the Aloba family, confirmed this development on Wednesday.

The application, filed by Mohbad’s father Joseph Aloba through the family’s legal representatives, sought permission to serve Wunmi by delivering all the necessary legal documents to her last-known address.

The statement further disclosed that the family’s legal team, led by Emmanuel Oroko, argued that the sheriff had attempted to serve Wunmi with the court documents twice before but was unsuccessful.

Odumosu stated that “If the process were served on the last-known address of the respondent by Order of the Court, it would constitute good service and she would be aware of the pending suit.

“The Chief Magistrate granted the order and ordered that the respondent be served by posting the court process on her last known address.

“It will be recalled that the Aloba family is contesting the paternity of baby Liam and filed an application before the Family Court wherein it sought an order of the court against Wunmi to present herself and baby Liam for a DNA test at any recognised laboratory in Lagos,” the statement read.

The statement also mentioned that in a widely circulated video, the singer’s wife expressed her willingness to undergo a DNA test, clarifying that she had not been accessible for the court sheriff to deliver the originating motion to her.
