Rihanna, 36, has made some enemies for herself in religious quarter after she dressed as a sexy nun on the cover of Interview Magazine’s latest issue.
The singer and the Fenty Beauty founder wears a black and white habit, the traditional garment worn by members of religious orders.
She then projects the provocative image of her, in which she sported a bright red lipstick and an unbuttoned blouse that exposed her cleavage which leads to fans calling her out for being disrespectful towards Christians and Catholics.
Fans Don’t Like What They See
‘So tired with all this unholy imagery!!!!’ one wrote while another called the concept ‘religious mockery.’
Another asked: ‘Isn’t this blasphemy??’.
A disappointed fan said: ‘I love Rihanna but I never understand why the obsession with sexualizing religious representations.’
She Has Some Supports
While many social media users questioned why did the Fenty Beauty founder ‘chose to mock a religion’, some die-hard fans, however, jumped to her defense as they inquired whether the trolls made the same comments ‘under every single person that has been a slutty nun for Halloween.’
Rihanna Has Always Been Like This
This is not her first time to create upset in ‘the world of beliefs’ – she did in 2021 as she was accused of ‘cultural appropriation’ by fans for wearing a religious pendant of Hindu god Ganesha in a topless photo.
Also in 2020, she landed in hot water for using a song featuring sacred Islamic texts as a soundtrack to her racy Savage x Fenty lingerie show.
