The Prince and Princess of Wales are preparing for some cherished family time as their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, begin their school holidays on Friday.
George, aged ten, Charlotte, aged eight, and Louis, aged five, who attend Lambrook School in Berkshire, will enjoy nearly a month off before returning to the classroom on April 17th.
Typically, the Wales family spends the children’s holidays at their second residence, the ten-bedroom Anmer Hall on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk. It is probable that the royals will relocate there in the coming days. However, they might opt to first attend the Easter church service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle alongside other members of the royal family before heading to Norfolk.
Traditionally, William and Kate participate in the service with other senior royals, including King Charles and Camilla, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, their children Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex, Princess Anne, Zara and Mike Tindall, and more. Last year, Prince Louis made his debut, holding Kate’s hand as he arrived at the chapel, while George and Charlotte joined the royal family for their inaugural public Easter outing in 2022.
Norfolk Holiday Plans
Should the Wales family choose to visit Sandringham this Easter, they will experience a considerable degree of privacy, as the locals in the area are accustomed to their royal neighbors.
Kate will have the opportunity to take leisurely walks on the beach with the family dogs and engage in enjoyable Easter activities with the children, such as crafting Easter bonnets, painting eggs, baking treats, and organizing an Easter egg hunt at home.
As William said during a visit to a youth club last week: “My wife is the arty one.”
Where William and Kate Like to Holiday
In the past, the Wales family has utilized the children’s extensive school breaks to embark on staycations, a trend they may continue this year as well.
During the summer of 2021, they enjoyed a lively holiday on the Isles of Scilly off the coast of Cornwall. The previous year, they were spotted cycling around Tresco Island. Tresco holds sentimental value for William, who frequented the island as a child with his brother, Prince Harry, and their parents, King Charles and Princess Diana.
The Lake District also serves as a favored destination for the Wales family. During a visit to Cumbria in 2019, Kate mentioned that her children adore the region and relish going on walks there.
In addition to domestic getaways, the royals also indulge in trips to the Caribbean, particularly the exclusive island of Mustique. George’s initial visit to Mustique occurred when he was just a baby, and the family reportedly celebrated his sixth birthday there. Carole and Michael Middleton have been known to accompany the Waleses on their Caribbean vacations, often commemorating Carole’s January birthday on the island.
