During her visit to the Isle of Man on Wednesday, Queen Camilla shared a lighthearted moment about her grandson, Louis Lopes, jokingly referring to him as a “handful.”
While engaging with well-wishers outside Douglas Borough Council, she encountered a baby named Louis, prompting her playful comment.
Camilla, aged 76, traveled to the Isle of Man to formally grant city status to Douglas. Representing her husband, King Charles, who has been undergoing cancer treatment since early February, she expressed gratitude for the warm reception from residents.
Additionally, she delivered a speech prepared by the King, in which he extended his regrets for not being present and acknowledged his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II.
In his message, Charles, aged 75, conveyed his apologies for his absence and conveyed his appreciation for the significance of the occasion.
“The granting of your city status is particularly special to me, as your Letters Patent are the only ones in existence that hold both my signature and that of my late mother,” the message read.
“Therefore, ladies and gentlemen, as you mark your well-deserved status as one of the newest cities in the British Isles, and the only one of the Crown Dependencies, I would like to offer on behalf of my wife and myself, my heartfelt congratulations and my very best wishes for the future.”
Camilla has three grandchildren: twin boys Gus and Louis, aged 14, from her daughter Laura Lopes, and 13-year-old Frederick, from her son Tom Parker Bowles. All three grandchildren had the honor of serving as pages of honour during King Charles’ coronation.
Additionally, she is a step-grandmother to Prince Louis, the youngest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales, and the younger sibling of Prince George, aged ten, and Princess Charlotte, aged eight.
Prince Louis often captures media attention with his playful public appearances, notably seen playfully interacting with his mother Kate at the Platinum Pageant in June 2022.
During the commemoration to honor the late Queen, Louis was photographed sticking out his tongue, covering Kate’s mouth with his hand, and making amusing facial expressions.
