This is the moment a passerby swung at a ‘pickpocket‘ who allegedly stole his wallet, then dropped it on the floor when he was caught.
The video, posted to TikTok, shows a man in a grey jumper and jeans, wearing a dark flat cap, pushing the alleged thief up against the railings of what is understood to be the Blue Bridge in St James’ Park.
How The Incident Unfold
The man, who has not been identified, shouts at him and grabs him by his collar. The alleged thief, who has also not been identified, can be seen slyly reaching into his back pocket and dropping a brown wallet to the floor, before pointing it out to the angry passerby.
The Confrontation
He takes a swing at the brazen ‘thief’, who quickly tries to walk away from the fracas, before being caught by the passerby, who then throws several more punches.
The video cuts off as the man chases after the thief.
The Met Police said that the incident took place at 1pm on Saturday, and that cash and a passport were stolen, but no arrests were made.
