Ariana Grande asked her fans to stop sending hate to her loved ones following the release of her new album Eternal Sunshine.

On Saturday, the 30-year-old pop star took to her Instagram Stories to address the unkind messages people have been sending to ‘people in [her] life’ following fan speculation about cryptic lyrics in her new record songs.

What Fans Think About Her Songs

The singer also seemed to be talking about the drama surrounding specifically her titular track, lyrics in which prompted allegations from fans that her ex-husband Dalton Gomez might have been unfaithful.

In response to rumors, she firmly called out those people writing and sending ‘hateful messages’ simply ‘based on your interpretation of this album’.

The Yes, And? hitmaker added that doing so ‘is also entirely misinterpreting the intention behind the music.’

‘I just wanted to say anyone that is sending hateful messages to the people in my life based on your interpretation of this album is not supporting me and is absolutely doing the polar opposite of what I would ever encourage,’ she began.

Her Pleas

‘I ask that you please do not. It is not how to support me,’ she continued. ‘It is the opposite.’

‘Although this album captures a lot of painful moments, it also is woven together with a through line of deep, sincere love,’ she wrote.

‘If you cannot hear that, please listen more closely,’ she concluded. ‘Thank you.’

The two-time Grammy winner then followed up with a similar post on a blank background with white text that read: ‘Thank you! I love you!!!!!!!’

Prior to the release of her seventh studio album, the singer faced backlash from trolls about her new relationship with her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater.

News had just broke about her split with Gomez in early 2023 and around the same time Slater filed to divorce his then-wife Lilly Jay, with whom he had just welcomed a baby.

In a recent 2023 wrap-up post, she said that she felt ‘deeply misunderstood’ throughout the past year, which seemingly alluded to the allegations about her divorce and new relationship.
