The governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu, has died.
The governor who has been battling with leukemia and prostate cancer, died in Lagos on Wednesday, December 27.
He was 67years old.
Late Akeredolu was being managed by State House doctors in Lagos as he could not be flown abroad.
‘Akeredolu is dead; he died in Lagos,’ a source said.
‘They were looking for dialysis machines to be sent to his secret location in Lagos last week.’
Recall that the ailing governor returned to Nigeria in September following a three-month medical leave in Germany.
On December 12, he went on another medical leave after being directed by President Bola Tinubu to hand over power to his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who has since been standing in as acting governor.
Late Akeredolu is survived by his wife, Betty, children and grand children.
