Kate, the Princess of Wales “won’t hold out an olive branch” to Prince Harry in time for Christmas, according to one royal expert.
Princess Kate is known for being the one to hold down the mediator role within the Royal Family, having tried on various occasions to get everyone back on side.
She notably brought Prince William and Prince Harry together at Prince Philip’s funeral in April 2021 – just weeks after his explosive sit-down with Oprah Winfrey aired.
However, two years down the line, the situation is proving to be a little more complex, especially following a list of “brutal” attacks on the Royal Family in Harry’s tell-all memoir Spare.
Speaking to Fabulous magazine, royal commentator Jennie Bond said: “Catherine has played the peacemaker in the past and has brought William and Harry together, and I think that comes from her own family, and their values.
“But I think she has got to a stage whereby she has had to take a step back. Things have gone too far, and she feels upset and, quite frankly, hurt and insulted.”
As well as planting attacks on his father, stepmother, and brother, Harry also discussed his sister-in-law in his explosive memoir.
He claimed that, when his wife Meghan Markle was introduced to royal life, there had been signs of discord between her and Princess Kate.
Harry also detailed the infamous row between Meghan and Kate that took place over the bridesmaid dresses at their 2018 wedding.
Ms Bond said that, because of Kate’s feelings and the ongoing tensions, she doesn’t expect a family reconciliation in time for Christmas.
As well as details about the bridesmaid dress row, Kate was also reportedly upset that Harry shared that Meghan thought she and Prince William were “cold” when they first met.
Prior to the ongoing feud, Harry shared a close bond with his sister-in-law, with him even joining her and his brother on public visits.
Harry even once referred to Kate as the “sister I’ve never had and always wanted”.
Despite documenting her and Meghan’s tension, Harry did take to his memoir to call Kate a “good match” for his brother.
In Spare, he wrote: “I loved my new sister-in-law. I felt she was more sister than in-law, the sister I’ve never had and always wanted, and I was pleased that she’d forever be standing by Willy’s side.
“She was a good match for my older brother. They made each other visibly happy, and therefore I was happy too.”
