'Whisk Man' Recreates Iconic Come Dine With Me Moment A Decade On

Come Dine With Me’s ‘Whisk Guy’ has shown he’s in on the joke with an epic recreation of his famous meme.

The hall of fame for the Channel 4 show is dominated by three key players – Peter Marsh who uttered the words ‘what a sad little life you lead, Jane,’ Claire Phillips and her chaotic hosting which included serving everything on wooden planks as they are ‘impressive,’ and of course, Kevin Riley – better known as the guy who shoved a whole whisk in his mouth.

During his episode, Kevin was putting together a cheesecake. The recipe required a layer of white chocolate and another of milk chocolate. While mixing up the ingredients, he couldn’t resist tasting his concoction which meant shoving a whole whisk in his mouth.

The spur-of-the-moment decision during filming in 2012 was an instant internet hit – the YouTube video has now been viewed over 124 million times.

When previously asked why he did it Kevin honestly said: ‘I don’t suppose I know the answer. It was just something I did to make her [the producer] laugh really.’

He added on the Curios Cast podcast: ‘And I knew at the time that I did it – because they all wet themselves laughing – I thought, “That’s gonna be in the show”.’

During the 2021 interview, Kevin sadly revealed he’d ‘never made a penny out’ of the moment, which he found disappointing.

Well, that’s all changed now – we’re glad to see he’s finally securing the bag by once again performing the unique action for Ritz crackers on their ‘Host Right with Ritz’ campaign.

Kevin was trying to encourage Brits to embrace hosting after a study of 2000 people found that 76% of us feel pressured to ensure guests are having a good time, and 41% are pleased when the party is over.

‘After this, I hope the nation can learn something from my attempt at hosting redemption.’

Kevin is also now on celebrity video request site Cameo, where he’s charging £24 per video and has been inundated with requests. On the app Kevin describes himself as ‘Just a regular northern lad famous for putting a kitchen utensil in my mouth whilst on primetime TV’.
