The happiest day of a couples’ life turned into a nightmare when the groom died from an electric shock on their wedding night.
Aziz Karambali, 33, had sent everybody home after a day of celebrating his wedding when he and a couple of pals who had stayed behind were shocked while swimming in the pool.
Aziz and two of his pals who had stayed behind after the party decided to go down to the pool for a dip. But as they were about to leave, an electrical current made contact with the water, shocking all three of the men.
While the two friends miraculously survived, Aziz was not so lucky and passed away.
Initial reports from eyewitnesses say that an electrical pole close to the pool was defective, and somehow led to a current leaking into the water.
The groom’s body has been held for a post-mortem as police enquiries continue.
Tributes have poured in on social media after the young man’s tragic death.
Many, including his wife, took to social media to share their memories of the 33-year-old and the grief over his sudden death.
Another friend, also named Aziz, spoke on the Tunisian Ahla Sabah show on Monday, sharing details of the incident.
He said: ‘The wedding ceremony was on Saturday evening in the presence of family and friends, and the deceased was keen to attend everyone .. and the end of the evening, and after Leaving family and relatives, friends remained to celebrate with Aziz.’
