Chrissy Teigen has revealed that she ‘spiraled’ after taking a genealogy test that mistakenly claimed she had an identical twin.

The model, 37, who is married to John Legend, got herself into a fluster after taking the 23 and Me test to discover her DNA heritage, she told fans on Sunday.

‘Okay,’ she began as she sat in her bedroom, ‘Let me tell you guys about my past insane 24 hours.

‘As some of you know, I’ve been on a bit of a journey for the past few years, especially the past year, of health and wellness, trying to figure out a lot about my past and my family and just typical stuff we’re all curious about.’

The cookbook author then explained that she had already taken a 23 and Me test to discover her DNA heritage, and with the encouragement of her therapist and doctor she paid for some upgrades that can notify a client about risks for certain health conditions.

‘The first thing that came up, after I discovered I was part Neanderthal, was this’ revealed the influencer, pointing at the background, ‘I have an identical twin.’

After writing to the ‘twin’ and then 23 and Me, ‘like literally talking to a robot like it’s not a robot, ‘ she sent a text to her doctor.

‘Honestly, at this point, I’m spiraling,’ the former swimsuit model said.

‘I call my dad and I literally say, “Dad, hey, did you see me come out of Mom’s vagina and were there two of me?”‘ Chrissy said her dad, Ron Teigen Sr, who was present when her mom Vilailuck Teigen gave birth started laughing at the question. saying, ‘”No, I was there. There were not two of you.” I’m like, “Are you sure you were there?”‘

After father was unable to explain why there were two of her in the DNA registry, Chrissy called her sister Tina Teigen and posed the same question.

Chrissy made a gasping sound to mimic her sister’s first reaction to the question.

‘And her gasp, I was like, “I swear to God, I have a twin.”

‘At this point,’ she continued, ‘I’m making excuses for my whole life.

‘This is why I’m co-dependent, because my twin was ripped away from me. I’ve always felt something missing, and this is why I have addiction issues.’

It was Tina who solved the mystery, digging back into the recent past.

‘My sister was like, “Chrissy no. Remember when you were supposed to do that show Finding Your Roots?”‘

The ancestry program airs on PBS and is hosted by Dr. Henry Gates.

The mom of three, who shares her kids Luna, six, Miles, four and Esti, about five months, with her husband John Legend, 44 explained that the show had her and her family do DNA tests and put them under secret names to protect their identities.

The episode was not completed and has not yet aired.

‘My identical twin was myself. I was matching myself.’ she concluded.
