Yeni Kuti, daughter of Nigeria’s legendary singer, Fela Kuti has given reasons why she cannot leave her husband if she finds out he cheated on her.
In a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, the dancer, singer and media figure said she cannot leave her husband for cheating on her, because her father had 27 wives and her mum never left him. She asked people not judge her for her decision.
’I wouldn’t leave my husband if he is cheating. That’s me. You can leave your own husband if he is cheating, that’s you.
‘Don’t judge me. I am not judging you. My father had 27 wives, my mother didn’t go. So its me that will now go because of one girl? It cannot happen’.
Yeni Kuti also shared during a TVC ‘Your View’ show that cheating is ‘not a deal-breaker’ for her.
According to her, the only deal breaker will be discovering that her man has cheated on her with another man.
‘FOR ME, CHEATING IS NOT A DEAL BREAKER. MY FATHER HAD 27 WIVES, MY MOTHER DIDN’T GO; I AM NOT SAYING SHE WAS HAPPY, BUT SHE DIDN’T LEAVE.
‘MY OWN DEAL BREAKER IS IF I FIND OUT MY OWN PARTNER IS SLEEPING WITH ANOTHER MAN. THAT IS MY DEAL BREAKER. I WILL RUN, THEY WOULDN’T EVEN BEG ME. I WILL RUN.’
