A British woman has been burned alive in Turkey after being trapped inside a caravan she was staying in with her boyfriend.
Hayley Louise Pearce, 54, was holidaying with her boyfriend in the city of Bodrum when the tragedy happened.
Local media reported the couple woke up after flames had already engulfed their accommodation, but were unable to get to the door.
Hayley remained trapped in the trailer and died in the early hours of this morning.
Her Turkish boyfriend, who has not been named, somehow escaped the fire, though burnt, but the extent of his injuries remains unclear.
Footage from the scene show only the caravan completely destroyed as the fire crew battles to extinguish the flames.
They could only recover Hayley’s lifeless body inside the charred remains of the vehicle when firemen turned up a short while later.
It has since been taken to the morgue of the Mugla Forensic Medicine Institute for an autopsy.
According to local media, the cause of the fire was probably an electric heater.
Local media added that the pair may have been living in the caravan as it was more affordable than rental properties in the area
Authorities have launched an investigation into what happened.
