A woman was pistol-whipped and shoved into a vehicle on a residential Los Angeles street Tuesday afternoon in what police are calling an apparent kidnapping.

The video of the incident was captured by a security camera shows the moments an unidentified man pulls up in a silver Kia Rio with a handgun before grabbing and injuring the woman, who also hasn’t been identified.

The incident happened on Couts Avenue in Commerce, a city located southeast of central Los Angeles, in a neighborhood with two schools around 4.20pm.

The man is seen dragging the woman into the vehicle’s passenger seat before taking off down the street, heading east on Couts Avenue.

Law enforcement is now desperately searching for the woman, the man, and the vehicle involved in this incident.

The apparent kidnapping happened just outside of a home in the 2200 block of Couts Avenue. Neighbors say they are shocked by the incident.

‘We’re really worried,’ neighbor Sally Alvarez told KTLA.

In the footage captured by a home security camera, the woman in the video appears to be running and possibly hiding from someone while seemingly talking on the phone.

The woman at one point walks up a home’s driveway and hides behind the gate.

‘This family that it happened to, they’re really good,’ the neighbor continued, seemingly addressing the family whose home the kidnapping occurred in front of.

Several seconds after the woman is seen walking up the driveway, the Kia pulls up and the man exits the vehicle.

The woman is spotted walking toward the passenger side of the vehicle, indicating she may know the man.

Before she is able to get in, however, the man slams her over the head with a gun. He then pushes her inside the open car door, looks around, and drives off.

The woman is described as having dark brown/red hair and deputies say she was last seen wearing a black dress and sandals.

The man was wearing a white tank top, black shorts, and black-and-white shoes.
