Police are hunting the driver of a BMW car involved in a crash which resulted in a pregnant woman losing her unborn baby.

The collision happened between the BMW and a Toyota on Cooks Lane in Solihull, West Midlands, last year.

The woman and her family have agreed to release this sensitive information to show the impact the crash had on their lives – and encourage anyone with information to come forward.

West Midlands Police has released pictures of a man they would like to speak to, as they believe he may have been the driver of the BMW.

Officers previously arrested an 18-year-old passenger of the BMW on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, but the teenager has been released on police bail while inquiries continue.

Detective Constable Rachael Johnson said: ‘This has had a lasting impact on the family who were left devastated that day at the loss of their unborn baby.

‘We have carried out CCTV enquiries and spoken to witnesses and our investigation continues.

‘I would appeal directly to the suspect to do the right thing and get in touch with us.

‘Anyone who has any information on his whereabouts or about the incident please get in touch.

‘Officers urged people who might be able to help to contact 101 and quote reference number 20/471463/22, or to use the Live Chat function on the West Midlands Police website.
